Challenging Darwin in 2009Our international documentary film project is now in production.
2009 will be an interesting year. It will mark the 150th anniversary of the publication of The Origin of Species and the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth.
Evolutionists and the media have been busy making arrangements to make the most of these events. A number of secular feature films on the topic of Darwin are planned for release in 2009. The traveling museum exhibition called Darwin, has already been touring museums across the world for the past 3 years and will conclude in 2009, and a London museum together with Cambridge University, and others, are planning a whole series of Darwin200 events to celebrate Darwin and evolution. Even a replica of the ship HMS Beagle, on which Darwin made his famous journey, is due for completion in that year.
This cannot go unanswered. We have plans to make the most of this media opportunity. Creation Ministries International has already begun a major international documentary film project to help challenge evolution in 2009. Based on an original concept from Dr Emil Silvestru of CMI–Canada, the film will take a critical look at some of Darwin's key ideas and will interview historians and scientists from a variety of views, including evolutionists. Together with wildlife footage from South America and dramatic re-enactments, the program will illustrate how the evolutionary viewpoint is far from the tried and tested science many believe it to be. It will shed some clear truth on the man Darwin, and his legend that has grown beyond historical fact.
Our staff scientists have been joined by a team of industry professionals to transform the project from paper into a one-hour documentary. With a budget of US$537,000 it is among the biggest documentary film projects undertaken by any faith-funded Christian organization in the world.
To ensure the program is attractive for sale to international broadcasters, we have sourced an experienced team from outside Creation Ministries to help facilitate the production. Our director, scriptwriter, production consultant, director of photography and film editor all have international broadcast experience. The script for the project is already nearing completion, with the final draft to be completed early in 2008. Our scriptwriter has the experience needed to weave the scientific and historical facts into an intriguing story. We have already planned and booked the fares for the crew’s international shoot which will begin in early 2008, lasting 8 weeks. Following a number of months of post-production, the documentary needs to be completed in September 2008. Time is short! We have stepped out in faith to commit to the project and are trusting the Lord to provide the funds. This is a great opportunity for the church worldwide to capitalize on the interest that is coming in 2009. Will you consider assisting this project?
We value your prayers and support.
